Although the book is out of print in English at the moment, is has been published in Arabic in Cairo and in06 the Serbian edition was published in Belgrade. Organizational development consultants have used parts of chapters as handouts in their work, and some organizational leaders have told us they keep the book in their bookshelf adjoining their desks.
The book grew out of a consultation organized by Center for Change with a diverse group of veteran organizers in the activist and nonprofit world, and is partly based on long, in-depth interviews with them. The authors of the book themselves have led nonprofits and have considerable organizational consulting experience.
