Workshops

We've spent decades developing a training approach that liberates participants, helping them break limiting patterns and become more effective change agents. It works so well we just can't keep it to ourselves.

We've gone to Russia to help the prodemocracy movement build its training network. We've gone to Indonesia to train the international teams protecting Aceh's human rights workers. When activists in South Africa were working to bring down apartheid, we went there to train the movement's trainers.

At home in the US, we've trained over 1000 activists and organizers how to lead trainings the TFC way. How can we help you build your movement's capacity to train itself?

Class Matters – In Community and in Coalition
Both the New York Times and Washington Post recently gave major attention to trends in the class structure of the United States. We'll explore how class patterns show up – and get in the way – when people try to deepen their sense of community with each other, in religious or secular groups. We'll also explore the dynamics of class relations in coalitions for social change. Our goal? To make unity possible! Not the superficial unity which denies class difference, but the authentic unity that comes from working through our differences.

QUESTIONS ABOUT MONEY?

All of our workshops are on a sliding scale. That means we ask people to pay according to their ability. We generally recommend an amount based on your income.

If you can afford more, please pay more to assist others with less to attend. If you can only afford less, do not let money stop you from coming. You can contact our office for work exchange options, scholarships and ideas for funding sources.
